1939 Register for Mickfield

1939 National Register

The 1939 National Register was taken on the night of Friday 29th September, 1939.  This was to create an accurate register of everyone in the Country in the prelude to War.

The National Archives website has the full details 1939 Register.

The Schedule for TXFV includes the Parishes of Stonham Parva as well as Mickfield. It loooks as though Schedules 1 to 95 are Stonham Parva and are not currently being transcribed. Schedule 96 to 142 are Mickfield - transcriptions are complete.

The boundaries between Stonham Aspal, Mill Green, Mickfield and Stonham Parva have been fluid over the years, so if the person you are looking for does not appear where you expect - then check the other schedules.

There are are many people whose records are still closed, implying they are still alive and are therefore not (knowingly) on this website.

Heads Of The Households

The following is a list of the "Heads of the Household" in the Parish on 29th September 1939..

Experience has shown that some Birth Dates in the Register are a year out. It would appear that the Enumerator asked for peoples Birth day and month, but then asked them how old they were, rather than asking for the year of birth.
