Metcalf's General Charity
In the early 1600's Rev. John Metcalf set up the Educational and General charities to support the parishioners of Stonham Aspal and Pettaugh. His money came from the Felgate family he married into, they had no children so the charity was set up to support his congregation.
Scheme of the 8th May 1900 as varied by schemes of 12th May 1908 and 4th March 1910, and resolution made under S.74(2)(C) of the Charities Act 1993. Metcalf's General Charity, Charity Number 2400132

The Olivier Trust
The Olivier Trust was set up by Colonel H. A. A. Olivier, who was a cousin of Sir Laurence Olivier (their respective fathers were brothers), lived in Garden Cottage until the 1960's. He died in Hampshire in 1976 and left the property to be used to home deserving elderly people from the Parish.
