Taylor and the late Mrs G Taylor of Lower Road Debenham and Mr Charles Albert Mayes, only son of Mr Albert Mayes and the late Mrs Mayes, Whitehouse Farm, Winston, which was conducted at Debenham Congregational Church on Saturday by the Rev. D. A. Lawson
The bridegroom is on the staff of the Eastern Counties Omnibus Co., Ipswich.
Given away by her father, the bride wore an ivory embossed brocade ballerina-length gown; her short nylon net veil was held in place with a coronet of orange blossom and she carried a bouquet of pink rosebuds and white miniature gladioli.
Miss Elaine Grace Gabbitas (niece), who attended the bride, wore a nasturtium coloured nylon ballerina-length dress with white accessories and carried a bouquet of mixed sweet-peas.
Miss A. Perry was organist for the hymns “Love Divine, All Loves Excelling” and “Lead Us, Heavenly Father, Lead Us.”
Mr Aubrey Mayes, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man.
A reception was held at the Cherry Tree Inn, Debenham.
Among the many cheques and presents was one from the bride's employer Messrs. Henry Abbott Ltd., Debenham, and another from the members of the Debenhams Congregational Church.
When Mr and Mrs Mayes left for their honeymoon, the bride wore a multi coloured two piece with lemon coloured accessories.
