Gower was born between 6 Apr 1838 and 4 Apr 1840 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England.2 He married Elizabeth Erskine Forbes, daughter of Maria F (?), on 20 Sep 1870 in St. Mary's Episcopal Chapel, Inverurie, Aberdeen, Scotland.1 John Natl. Gower died on 28 Aug 1905 in 54 Creffield Road, Colchester, Essex, England.3 His estate was probated on 28 Sep 1905 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England; Effects £4521 3s.3
