Obituary

     It is with sincere regret that we hear of the decease at Cairo, on Thursday last, of Mr Thomas Nunn Debenham of the firm of Messrs Debenham, Tewson, Farmer and Bridgewater, Cheapside. The deceased who was only 54 years of age sustained, it will be remembered, the severe shock in August last by the sad drowning of his son in Ireland. From this he never wholly recovered, his health gradually breaking up. In the hope that the change of scene and rest would prove beneficial, the deceased, on the advice of his doctor, left England last month for a trip to Egypt. The hopes of his friends were, however, doomed to disappointment, for he grew worse instead of better, death, as stated above occurring on Thursday October 12t. h Mr Debenham who was the younger brother of the present senior partner, joined the firm at its commencement in the year 1853, and was associated with it to the last, his partnership dating back to the year 1861.12
