PC Cook took the rail to the prosecutor and asked him if he had given it to Kerridge, as he had found the rail in Kerridge's posession, when he was coming from the direction of the meadow. Defendant pleased that he found the rail in the middle of the river. There being two previous convictions against defendant, he was fined 20s.; in default one month's imprisonment with hard labour.
